For people considering yacht or powerboat ownership, the purchase price, combined with the cost of insurance, marina fees, and time spent on upkeep, all add up. SailTime eliminates these barriers and puts the fun back into sailing. With SailTime your monthly membership fee is usually less than a day's charter rate or the monthly marina fees.
If you are looking to charter a yacht in the UK, why not consider membership of SailTime and enjoy flexible chartering all year round? With SailTime membership, you book your boat online and spend the minimum amount of time arranging your sailing – just point, click and sail!
SailTime Members don't compromise on quality. Our fleet consists of highly appointed Bénéteau Oceanis yachts as well as Bavaria and Sealine motorboats.
Each of our yachts is "shared" by seven Members and one Owner-Member, who are all guaranteed seven sail times per month on the boat. Members use our highly advanced SailTime Scheduler™ to either make instant reservations or plan sailing trips up to a year in advance. Members also have access to other yachts in the fleet as well as other SailTime base locations when they join SailTime Plus.
Maintenance is also simple with SailTime's innovative E-ttendant™ system. Upon arrival and departure, members check on and check off using a wireless PDA onboard. The system tracks if something is amiss, needs attention, or if an item is in short supply by notifying Members, as well as the Base Owner, who will ensure that the boat is ready to sail when you are.
EASY STEPS TO BECOMING A MEMBER:
- Visit us at a boat show, an Open Day or contact your local Base Manager.
- Make an appointment to meet your local Base Manager and view our fleet.
- Choose the size and type of yacht you would like to join.
- Complete a Membership Agreement, pay a security deposit, joining/induction fee and the first month’s membership fee. The induction includes an assessment sail.
- In order to sail unsupervised, you need to hold a RYA Day Skipper Tidal qualification. If you have not completed this, you can still join SailTime. We’ll teach you to sail through one of our affiliated sailing schools using your own SailTime yacht, exclusively with your own personal tuition. Until you become a qualified Day Skipper, you can still sail with one of our SailTime Skippers who will help you learn the ropes.
- Plan your own sailing calendar – just point, click and sail!
COSTS
With SailTime your monthly membership fee is usually less than a day's charter rate or monthly marina charges for a similar boat you may own yourself. The price varies based upon the size of the boat and the location of the berth. For specific costs contact the base nearest you.
SAILTIME PLUS PROGRAMME
SailTime Plus is only available to SailTime Members.
In addition to the standard membership benefits, SailTime Plus Members can enjoy other yachts in the fleet as well as yachts at other SailTime base locations. Plus Members are only charged on a "pay per use" basis when using SailTime host yachts. Plus Members can also choose to have a half day induction on a larger SailTime yacht and/or when visiting other SailTime bases.
SailTime Plus joining Fee
one-time £500 (ex. VAT)
SailTime Plus usage Fee
"Plus time" is charged on a per sail time basis. The fee for each sail time is 1/7th of the monthly rate. For example, if the monthly Membership fee for a Beneteau 343 is £450 per month (ex. VAT), the cost per sail time is £64. So if a Plus Member books three sail times he will pay £192 (3 x £64).
Sailing at other SailTime Bases
SailTime Plus Members will be charged a £75 Boat & Chart Briefing Fee at the visited base. An attended check on & check off is included in this fee. An optional induction to familiarise Members with the yacht on the water is charged at £100 (ex. VAT) and is highly recommended when sailing larger yachts and/or when sailing in unfamiliar waters.
