There’s more to Gosport than just the fabulous sailing!
The earliest record of Gosport was around 1100 when the Bishop of Winchester was rescued from a storm and sheltered in the village. He suggested it should be known as “God’s Port”.
SailTime Gosport is the perfect location for all levels of ability; either under sail or power this fabulous sailing area offers easy access to the protected waters of the Solent and Chichester, as well as direct access to the open sea for a voyage to France for our more advanced members. The sailing opportunities are endless - cruise around the Isle of Wight, or head west and explore Buckler's Hard on the Beaulieu River. The more adventurous sailors can cruise down to the West Country and enjoy some spectacular sailing along the Cornish Coast. Couple this with Gosport’s unique historic setting where the old and the new come together with something to offer all tastes and ages.
The Green Gosport Ferry operates continuously, 5:30am to midnight, seven days a week from a landing stage adjacent to Portsmouth Harbour Rail Station. The trip across to Portsmouth takes only three minutes, where Gunwharf Quays, a modern development including the fabulous Spinnaker Tower is to be found. In Gunwharf Quays, there are also over 85 designer outlets, 20 cosmopolitan bars & restaurants, 14-screen Vue cinema, 26-lane Bowlplex, Jongleurs comedy club, Tiger Tiger Night Club and there is even a Casino. All this only a few minutes away from your marina berth.
