Training

Are you planning to take RYA training? Have you thought about how you will get those sea miles? Join SailTime and you can be skipper of your own yacht, enjoy own boat training and build your experience for a lot less than you might imagine!

To skipper a Sailtime boat we require you to have reached the RYA Day Skipper Tidal qualification, or can demonstrate a competence at or above this level. We strongly believe that this standard is the minimum that will enable you to feel confident in handling the boat and to enjoy your sailing with family and friends.

However, if you are a complete novice, or if you do not already have the Day Skipper qualification or equivalent experience, we can help you achieve Day Skipper on your SailTime boat.

SailTime Medway has close links with local RYA sailing schools and Yachtmaster Instructors, who are able to provide you with professional quality training to help you become a better, more confident skipper, regardless of your initial standard.

We can arrange for you to either join a local training school for group tuition, or to have a Yachtmaster Instructor onboard for one-to-one tuition that helps you towards Day Skipper and builds your confidence on the boat you will be sailing.

All new members at SailTime Medway, of whatever standard, also benefit from a two-day induction programme to ensure that they are familiar with their boat and the local waters before heading off on their own.
