Discover Affordable Fractional Sailing with SailTime Medway

Fractional sailing is a proven, innovative approach to sailing and power boating, which makes it easier and far more cost effective for you to get behind the wheel of a brand new boat. Perhaps you have dreamed of sailing or power boating, but have not been prepared to make the large financial and time commitments to purchase and maintain your own boat. SailTime is the perfect solution!

Each month, you have a minimum of 7 sailing sessions aboard your chosen boat, which you schedule yourself for weekend, weekday, evening or week-long sailing using our web based SailTime Scheduler. You choose when you’d like to go sailing and reserve these times up to 12 months in advance. You are able to bank unused times or borrow from next month and can book unlimited sessions if the boat is available within 24 hours. Full details of how membership works can be found on our FAQ page. Membership also provides ‘as available’ access to all boats at SailTime bases in the UK, European and North American fleets, whilst boats participating in the SailTime Plus scheme can be chartered at pro-rated monthly membership fees. SailTime operates an Owner-Member scheme for those who want to enjoy the benefits of membership whilst earning a return on their investment in a SailTime boat.

Now you can enjoy a highly specified, fully maintained yacht or power boat without any of the hassle of traditional ownership or charter - at a fraction of the cost and at a fixed monthly price. Look here for a comparison of costs.

Welcome to SailTime Medway

Hi! I’m Nigel and together with my wife Kathy, we own and operate Sailtime Medway, which is based at Chatham Maritime Marina.  Kathy and I originally met through RYA Yachtmaster training more than 20 years ago.  We were recently SailTime members based at Ipswich and believed the concept made so much sense that we decided to set up bases around the South East coast providing varied sailing and power boating to our members.  Our plans include bases at Ramsgate, Dover and Eastbourne.  The first base is in the Medway and opens in the Spring of 2008 with a Beneteau 343 sailing boat.

Our aim is to provide you with a high quality and enjoyable experience through:
Opportunities for sailing skills development
We know that being able to enjoy your boat requires that you and your crew feel competent in all aspects of its handling. We are able to arrange instruction with our preferred RYA school, Elite Sailing, to enable you to reach the internationally recognised RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper Tidal qualifications. In addition we can provide individual own boat training with your own yachtmaster instructor, and more informal opportunities for skills development through team sessions on the boat such as sail trimming and handling under power.
Advice on local destinations and short passages
Although local pilots and guides exist, nothing can beat the personal experience of what other members have found do-able. Adding member experiences to our own knowledge of the Medway builds a great database for passage planning.
Involvement of fellow members
SailTime allows people to sail independently as skipper. However, there may be advantages for some in getting to know fellow members - such as finding mutual crewing support or sharing the out and return legs of a longer passage. We will provide a framework to facilitate this for those who want it.

With a monthly membership on our brand new 34ft Beneteau yacht of £559, there has never been a better way to get on the water. Just turn up and sail and let us do the rest. If you want to find out more, email medway@sailtime.com or call us on 0844 800 57 27.  We also have regular open days that can be found on the Base Info & Events page.
